Chem c3000 supplemental chemical set skin# In other words, it’s a storm in a slimepot.Īugust was all about carbon dioxide, after a heatwave spread across Europe and there was, bizarrely, a carbon dioxide shortage which had an impact on all sorts of things from fizzy drinks to online shopping deliveries. Unless your child is eating slime (don’t let them do that), they’re never going to absorb enough borax to do them any harm. In other words, it’s not appropriate to measure the total borax content of the slime and declare it dangerous – they should be looking at the amount of borax which is absorbed during normal use. Plus, the limits that I was able to find are migration limits. It’s all rather questionable, since it’s not really clear which safety guidelines they’re applying and whether they’re appropriate for slime toys. This time it flared up because the consumer magazine and organisation Which? kept promoting research that, they claimed, showed that slime toys contain dangerous levels of borax. July brought a subject which has turned up again recently: slime. And will probably keep on rearing its slimy head. Did you know you can make indicators from the leaves of Christmas poinsettia plants, too? Who knew? You do, now! Check it out if you’re looking for some chemistry to amuse yourself over the holidays (I mean, who isn’t?). In June I wrote about strawberries, and did a neat experiment to show that strawberries could be used to make pH indicator. It turns that this was, and is, a real risk – so if you keep fish and you’ve never heard of this before, do have a read! May featured fish tanks, following a widely reported story about a fish-owner who cleaned out his tank and managed to release a deadly toxin that poisoned his entire family. Chem c3000 supplemental chemical set skin# The bottom line is that everyone in the UK should be taking a small vitamin D supplement between about October and March, because northern Europeans simply can’t make vitamin D 3 in their skin during these months (well, unless they travel nearer to the equator), and it’s not a nutrient we can easily get from our food. Check out the post for more info.Īpril ended up being all about dairy and vitamin D.Īpril was all about dairy after a flare-up on Twitter on the topic, and went on to talk about vitamin D. It’s my quick and easy way of fact-checking online information – an increasingly important skill these days. In March I recorded an episode for the A Dash of Science podcast, and I went on to write a post about VARD, which stands for Verify, Author, Reasonableness and Date. In other words, unless you’re actually working with it – in which case you should have received safety training – there’s no need to be concerned. In a report, the European Food Safety Authority said that the health concern for BPA is low at their estimated levels of exposure. It’s not a harmless substance by any means, but it won’t surprise anyone to learn that the risks had, as is usually the case, been massively overstated. BPA is also used in a number of other things, not least the heat sensitive paper used to produce some shopping receipts. Anyway, BPA is a chemical in many plastics, and of course plastic waste had become – and remains – a hot topic. It’s our penance for daring to enjoy Christmas. There’s always one around January/February time. In February I wrote a piece about BPA (Bisphenol A), which was the chemical scare of the day. February featured BPA: an additive in many plastics.

#TUNNEL UNDERNEATH THE JONBENET RAMSEY HOUSE MOD# I'm pretty sure that it was never established that it was from the downstairs dryer as opposed to from JonBenet's bed where it normally was and where Patsy said in one of her interviews it most likely was. We don't know for a fact that the blanket came from the downstairs dryer, that's just what some people think (and surely if it had been in any dryer at all it would have been the dryer just outside of JonBenet's bedroom). I don’t think your opinion is based on very accurate information and therefore I think your belief that the panties were in the basement is incorrectįrom evidence obtained from the crime scene it would appear that the only the item that originally came from the basement was the paintbrush handle. LW gave the package, and some other things, to the Boulder DA.' When Lin Wood became their lawyer, boxes of stuff was turned over to him from the other lawyers. That package was one of the things collected. Investigators for their original lawyers collected items from the house as potential evidence after BPD was finished searching. After going back over old posts I have saved I came across this one by LovelyPigeon dated January 2004: 'The Ramseys never were in possession of the package of panties. I have always thought that the package was in JonBenet's bedroom cupboard and not in her bathroom drawer (or on the floor) like all her other panties and that is why the package was not collected by BPDĪs for them falling down because they were so big, she did wear long velvet pants over the top and I think they must have held the Bloomies in positionĮTA: I posted the above about what happened to the panties package from memory and it is wrong. Months later after the Ramseys had moved back to Atlanta they came across the opened package of Bloomies with the Wednesday pair missing. Who would know information like that? I don't think an intruder would. They had to have known that there was a pack of underwear in that house that were identical to the ones JB already had on. Either way, whoever redressed her had to have known that JB had another pair of Wednesday underwear. Maybe they were dumb and thought LE wouldn't notice. I think someone redressed her in the undies, and whoever did it was focusing more on the fact that they were Wednesday underwear than on the fact that they were too big. I think she would have grabbed another pair of size 6s from her drawer. Now, technically JB could have put the underwear on herself, but why would she put on the size 12s? Was she really that concerned about wearing Wednesday underwear that day that she'd give up her comfort just to wear them? I don't think so. Thanks! Now I've spent hours reading this thread and have about 70 new questions -_-Ĭan we discuss the significance of the fact that they were both Wednesday underwear?! From what I understand, JB wore her size 6 Wednesday Bloomies on Christmas day, but was found dead in size 12 Wednesday Bloomies.
