I'm pretty sure that it was never established that it was from the downstairs dryer as opposed to from JonBenet's bed where it normally was and where Patsy said in one of her interviews it most likely was. We don't know for a fact that the blanket came from the downstairs dryer, that's just what some people think (and surely if it had been in any dryer at all it would have been the dryer just outside of JonBenet's bedroom).

Either way, whoever redressed her had to have known that JB had another pair of Wednesday underwear. Maybe they were dumb and thought LE wouldn't notice. I think someone redressed her in the undies, and whoever did it was focusing more on the fact that they were Wednesday underwear than on the fact that they were too big.

I think she would have grabbed another pair of size 6s from her drawer. Now, technically JB could have put the underwear on herself, but why would she put on the size 12s? Was she really that concerned about wearing Wednesday underwear that day that she'd give up her comfort just to wear them? I don't think so. Thanks!
